Our Concept: Aloha. Wiki. Ono.™
ALOHA = Hawaiian Hospitality.
The “Aloha Spirit” is an inseparable part of Hawaii’s people. In fact, it is encoded in Hawaii’s law (Hawaii Revised Statutes section 5 - 7.5). This law describes the “Aloha Spirit” as “the working philosophy of native Hawaiians and was presented as a gift to the people of Hawaii.” It further reads that the “’aloha spirit’ is personified by the warmth, friendliness, and sincerity of Hawaii’s people.” At Hawaiian Hut, we service customers with the “Aloha Spirit” of the Hawaiian Islands.
WIKI = Quick, Fast.
Hawaiian Hut fuses together a quick service concept with gourmet cuisine typically only found in upscale full service restaurants. So whether you are on the go, or would like to take your time and relax . . . you can indulge yourself at Hawaiian Hut!
ONO = Delicious.
Hawaiian Hut™ is committed to serving only the most delectable and savory Hawaiian cuisine. Accordingly, Hawaiian Hut isn’t a typical fast casual restaurant. Hawaiian Hut’s authentic ingredients are shipped from Hawaii, over 4,500 miles away. Hawaiian Hut serves only USDA choice meats or better, which are brought in fresh, not frozen. Hawaiian Hut hand-cuts all steaks and marinates all meats according to a strict time schedule. Hawaiian Hut also makes your food to order so that quality is maintained at its highest mark.
Furthermore, at Hawaiian Hut, appearance is just as important as taste. Every dish is served with Hawaiian Hut’s clean and contemporary culinary flare.
“My father, John Kapapa Jr., grew up with his ‘Tutu’ (grandmother) in Kahana Valley, O’ahu, which ‘may be as close to old Hawaii as you can get . . . Kahana, with its shallow, horseshoe-shaped bay, is one of the old Hawaiian ahupua’a, a self-sufficient division of land that runs from the mountains to the sea.’ [Ryan, T. 1987 “Kahana Valley, paradox in time”, Honolulu Star Bulletin, 7 April.]
Kahana Valley is a special place to my father, where ‘shaded from the frenzied forces of modern society . . . they pass the days with quiet contentment in the tradition of their Hawaiian forebears, making nets, weaving, fishing, farming, and ‘talking story.’ Like the clear streams and giant shrimp, the fragrant gingers and mountain apples, the people are part of the valley’s rich and beautiful resources.’ [Alton, H. 1979, “Portrait of Kahana”, Star Bulletin & Advertiser, 20 May, p. C-1.]
As taught by his Tutu, there, in good ‘old Hawaii,’ my father mastered the traditional ways of Hawaiian cooking. Tutu has long since passed on, but the traditional cooking styles have remained a part of my father, and our family heritage.
Hawaiian Hut™ features our family’s traditional recipes and local island flavors with a contemporary spin. We are pleased to bring the flavors of Hawaii to you!
